Cyberpunk 2077 Red DLC CD Project – In mid-2025, Cyberpunk 2077 received a major update version 2.3 which brought quite a lot of new content, ranging from additional vehicles, various new missions to the autodrive feature, plus various other changes.
The flurry of updates has apparently made some players enthusiastic and has given rise to speculation that CD Projekt Red may be working on DLC or a major expansion. Although it is natural for some to hope so, CDPR recently spoke out and emphasized that this news is nothing more than wishful thinking.
CD Projekt Red Has No Plans for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC or New Expansions
On March 10, an X/Twitter user responded to the announcement of Cyberpunk 2077 coming to Xbox Game Pass by asking about the “secret DLC” that was reportedly being prepared. However, the official Cyberpunk account immediately cleared up this speculation by saying that no new DLC was in the works.
CDPR confirmed that Phantom Liberty, which will be released in 2023, is the final expansion for the RPG game. They even specifically stated that there would be no expansion whatsoever, whether paid or free. The only hope they have left is a promise to notify players if they change their minds at a later date.
However, hope for a change of heart seems quite slim. Their response sounded very firm and it wasn’t the first time CDPR denied rumors surrounding the game’s new content.

CDPR Focuses on Other Projects
Even though CDPR has never hinted at any new content for Cyberpunk 2077, it’s natural for such rumors to emerge. The reason is, there are increasing indications that The Witcher 3 will get a new expansion in 2026. So, if DLC for a game that is more than ten years old is still possible, why not for Cyberpunk while waiting for the sequel.
Apart from that, there is also the issue of inequality which is quite striking. The Witcher 3 has received various free and paid expansions since its release in 2015, while Cyberpunk 2077 only received one major expansion, namely Phantom Liberty.
This inequality seems to be a strong argument for CDPR to pay more attention to Cyberpunk, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon.
