The Origin of the Rumor that BioShock 4 will be an Immersive Sim Game with a Semi-Open-World World
Via X/Twitter, a leaker named At Scooper shared a number of “exclusive” details about BioShock 4, including claims that the game will be an immersive sim game where player choices will really influence the direction of the story. If this information is accurate, it would be a game changer for the BioShock series.
Not only that, V Scooper also said that BioShock 4 will carry a “semi open-world” concept. This claim is in line with his statement about the setting being in a “dense and interconnected city”, in addition to other leaks that appeared at the end of 2025 and discussed several details of the location and characters of the latest BioShock game.
Previous leaks also indicated that the scale of the setting would be larger than the setting in previous BioShock games. Interestingly, the world in this game will reportedly also be more interactive and have realistic physics, so players can influence and change the environment around them.

Furthermore, V Scooper also mentioned several other gameplay details, such as enemies who can react and adjust tactics, as well as the existence of “RPG-lite” mechanisms.
