Rumors of a new Resident Evil game will continue to be released every year until 2029

Resident Evil New Game 2029 – Since 2019, the Resident Evil series has almost always released a new game every year, except 2024. RE 2 Remake was released in 2019, followed by RE 3 Remake and RE Resistance in 2020. 2021 was the year RE Village was released, followed by RE Re: Verse in 2022.

In 2023, the long-awaited remake version of RE 4 will finally be officially released. Well, 2025 was filled with a mobile strategy game entitled RE Survival Unit. This year, RE Requiem is ready to bring a new horror story on February 27. Capcom itself hasn’t announced what will come after Requiem, but it looks like their plans for the next few years are starting to become clear.

The Origin of Rumors that the New Resident Evil Game will Continue to be Released Every Year Until 2029

The beginning of this rumor came from a popular leaker in the Gamer community called AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem. Through his Twitter

Previous leaks complete the picture regarding plans to release Resident Evil games for the period 2026 to 2029. From the latest information, the remake version of RE Code: Veronica is said to be the next project and is targeted to launch in early 2027. After that, the remake version of RE Zero will reportedly follow in 2028.

If the leak is true, Capcom seems to want to return Resident Evil to an annual release pattern. However, players still need to remember that plans can change and projects that are still rumors like that always have the opportunity to be postponed. In fact, AestheticGamer even hinted that RE 10 might be delayed until 2030 or 2031.

New Resident Evil Films This Year

Apart from the projects above, there were rumors that the first Resident Evil game would be remade in the form of a remake with an over-the-shoulder camera perspective. Then, there are also rumors claiming that a remake version of RE 5 is being prepared.

While waiting for news about these projects, fans of the horror game series have something else to look forward to in 2026. The newest RE film is scheduled to hit theaters at the end of this year, and will be directed by Zach Cregger, previously known for Barbarian and Weapons.
