Echoes of Aincrad Preview – Big fans of the Sword Art Online franchise by Reki Kawahara will have a new game entitled Echoes of Aincrad. This game will bring back the first story arc of Sword Art Online in the world of Aincrad. However, the player will go on an adventure as another character who is trapped together with his friends in the Sword Art Online game risking their life and death.
As the release approaches, we got the opportunity from Bandai Namco to try out a little of the Echoes of Aincrad game on the PC platform. When trying to play the game, there is a lot of experience playing the content in the game, from the story to the features gamehe.

The following is the experience I had when playing the Echoes of Aincrad game.
Sword Art Online Stories from Different Characters’ Points of View
Echoes of Aincrad is set at the beginning of the Sword Art Online story where many players are trapped in a game that risks their lives. However, in this game, the player will control a new character who is one of the players trapped in the Sword Art Online game.
From the start of the game to the end of the content that can be accessed, Echoes of Aincrad tells the story of the protagonist and his friends who are trying to survive in the world of the Sword Art Online game. They must be able to survive in the game world, whether from monsters or other players who do not rule out the possibility of being PK (Player Killer).
Due to the limited access provided, this game does not show much in terms of story. However, if you are a big fan of the Sword Art Online franchise, you might be curious about the Echoes of Aincrad game because the story focuses on other characters and not Kirito and his friends.
Aincrad World Gameplay and Exploration Features
Echoes of Aincrad presents an Action RPG game where players will control characters using Weapons, Armor, Skills when facing enemies. In this game, players will explore several stage missions with a large map that you can explore.
Your adventure in exploring the world of Aincrad will be accompanied by one NPC character from many choices who is a friend of the Protagonist. From what I found, each NPC character has their own abilities and fighting style.
Apart from that, they are also very helpful in diverting the enemy’s attention with the typical Switch system in Sword Art Online. You can give orders to them to focus on being in the front or back position in the fight. So choosing an NPC character in your party to suit your playing style can be very helpful in this game.
To explore the world of Aincrad, Players will access a Main Terminal and select the Quest they want to complete. This quest will send players to several locations in Aincrad to explore its vast world. Players will find various things, ranging from regular monsters to powerful versions, Arks challenges to unlock access to Relics, hidden treasures, and much more.
The monsters you face also vary depending on environment the location. The monsters are actually not too difficult to deal with as long as the player’s character has a level that is not too different from the enemy’s level.
When a monster has a level that is much higher than the Player character’s level, then you have to play more seriously to beat it. The Weapon, Armor and Item factors below can also determine victory.
Meanwhile, the Boss in the Quest can be said to be very strong and can deal a lot of damage. When trying to play this game, I can’t do it grind Maximum level due to time constraints. So when I faced the Boss in one of the Quests, I was a little overwhelmed because I was surprised at how much damage and aggressive the Boss was when fought.
So from there I can draw a slight conclusion that this game really needs it grind Level so that players are not overwhelmed by enemies in Aincrad.
The Most Balanced Graphic Display
The graphics in the Echoes of Aincrad game can be said to be the best balance among previous Sword Art Online games. That’s because the graphics in this game have the appearance of character models, monsters and environments that are most suitable for depicting the beginning of the Sword Art Online Arc story.
The graphics displayed of course present MMORPG-style fantasy elements but not too much striking or striking with various kinds of excessive effects. Moreover, the quality of the character models in this game looks very detailed and matches the depiction of the world of Sword Art Online.
The environment displayed can also be a feast for the eyes of Sword Art Online fans. You will see the world of Aincrad made in as much detail as possible, starting from city areas, villages, Dungeons, and much more.
That’s the reason why I say that in terms of graphics, Echoed of Aincrad is the most balanced game among the previous Sword Art Online games.
A New Sword Art Online Game That Has Potential
Based on my experience playing the Echoes of Aincrad game, there really isn’t much I can conclude. This is because of limited access and the content presented in the Preview version for media is still not 100% of the full version.
However, from this short playing experience, I can say that Echoes of Aincrad has the potential to be an exciting game as part of the Sword Art Online franchise. Especially fans who want to enjoy the first adventure story of the Sword Art Online Arc again, but from the perspective of other characters it can provide its own excitement and uniqueness apart from the big role of Kirito and his friends.
The gameplay system and exploration of the world of Aincrad itself is quite interesting, coupled with the presence of 1 NPC character who can be brought along when going on adventures and completing quests.
