FitGirl Repackages ESA – Video game piracy is still widespread today. Although video game companies have made several efforts to stop it, such as installing Denuvo in their games, piracy still continues. There is a large list of free game download sites that gamers often use, one of which is FitGirl Repacks.
Recently there was news that the FitGirl Repacks site was included in the list of major threats to piracy by large video game companies. Is that true?
FitGirl Repacks Includes Major Piracy Threats for Major Video Game Companies
Based on the information obtained, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has just submitted a document regarding the condition of the “Famous Market” in the Entertainment sector including the video game industry. The document was submitted to the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR).
After further investigation, the content of this ESA document is an explanation of a summary of the conditions of the ‘piracy market’ which can help shape the global copyright agenda by the United States Government in the future. Its contents include a large list of free game piracy sites that are easily accessible to the public on the internet.
You need to know, ESA represents several large video game companies such as Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, and Ubisoft. From several lists of site names listed in the document created by ESA, the name of the FitGirl Repacks site is clearly listed there.
Sites Included in the List
In this ESA document, the report regarding the FitGirl Repacks site is explained in detail. The document states that FitGirl Repacks is a site that offers many pirated copies of video games with a number of visitors that could reach 22 million people starting in July 2024.
They also wrote in the document that this site had become the target of international monitoring because the relevant parties did not comply with calls to remove video game piracy content there because it violated copyright. It is known that access to this site has been closed in Spain by the local Ministry.
Apart from FitGirl, it turns out that there are other sites that are included in the Piracy Threat list in ESA’s documents, namely:
- FitGirl Repack
- nsw2u
- dodi-repack
Apart from discussing video game sites, this ESA document also explains many things related to piracy. The discussion starts from hosting sites that provide download places such as 1fichier, Torrent sites such as 1337x, cheat sites such as unknowncheats, and many more.
You can see the proof document below.
At the time this article was written (21/10), there was no further information whether ESA or USTR would carry out serious monitoring and action following the existence of this document. Let’s just wait for further information from them.
That is the information regarding FitGirl Repacks and other free game download sites on the internet that have been included in the watch list by major video game companies. What do you think about this information?
