Jamie’s Farm: From Lambs in a Croydon Playground to National Charity

Jamie’s Farm: From Lambs in a Croydon Playground to National Charity
With Jake Curtis (Director of Programmes and Operations, JF)

Speakers
Jamie Feilden (Founder and CEO, Jamie’s Farm)
Ruth Young (Education Manager, JF Monmouth)

When Jamie was in the midst of the Teach First programme in a tough Croydon comprehensive (which has since been shut down), he decided to bring two lambs into the playground in an attempt to calm the chaotic behaviour of children in the school, and give them a positive outlet for their energy. Little did he know then that less than 15 years later, he would be leading an organisation that spanned five purpose built farms, offering a unique brand of Farming, Family and Therapy to 2000 children a year. Alongside Jamie, Ruth Young, our Education Manager in Monmouth, will offer her perspective on why Jamie’s Farm achieves such profound outcomes, having taken our model onto our third residential farm.
